Dr. Convertino has been practicing Optometry since 2004. He took over the Vision Centers in North Fort Myers in April 2010 and Port Charlotte in March 2012. He received his Bachelors degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He then attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and earned his degree in Optometry. Dr. Convertino then went on to complete an Ocular Disease Residency in Gainesville, Florida at the Malcom Randall VA Hospital. Dr. Convertino is among a small percentage of Optometrists to earn the distinction FAAO (Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry). His paper on Ocular Disease was published in Review of Optometry (2007). In 2015, Dr. Convertino moved his Port Charlotte location to Fort Myers Beach and opened a 3rd office in Estero, Florida. In 2016, Dr. Convertino opened a 4th location in LaBelle, Florida. Dr. Convertino now provides full scope optometric care using state-of-the-art equipment – Advanced Imaging Technology SD-OCT (Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography), Anterior and Posterior Segment Imaging (retinal photography), Humphrey Visual Fields, etc., and provides Cataract evaluation and co-management, LASIK consultation, and emergency office visits.
